Recently, Shandong Weifang Natural Resources and Planning Bureau issued a notice stating that in order to reasonably protect brine resources and realize the orderly exploitation and reasonable and effective utilization of brine resources, it has decided to suspend production and limit production of Bromine production enterprises in the city in December 1, 2022- February 28, 2023. Specifically, it includes Hanting, Binhai, Shouguang and Changyi, all four Bromine production centers.

Bromine Price Trend

In terms of price, from 2015 to 2020, the domestic Bromine market supply is generally stable, and the price fluctuates around CNY 30,000/ton. After 2020, under the multiple effects of domestic consumption upgrades and industrial upgrades, industries such as construction, household appliances, communication equipment, and new energy vehicles will develop rapidly, and the corresponding consumption of brominated flame retardants will also maintain a growth trend. The price of vegetarian food has been soaring all the way, reaching a sky-high price of nearly CNY 70,000/ton by the end of 2021. In 2022, although the price of Bromine will be lowered, it will still be at a historical high overall. Up to now, the mainstream quotation range of Bromine in Shandong area is CNY 46,000- 48,000/ton, which is lower than the same period last year.
